Evening Talk: New England Preservation Carpentry
Join us on Thursday May 28th at 7PM at the Flint Memorial Library (Lower Level Activity Room) for a talk by Tim Fries — a preservation carpenter with experience in timber framing, window sash restoration, wood shingle roofing, and other aspects of historic preservation. After a career in teaching, he attended the Preservation Carpentry program at the North Bennet Street School in Boston's North End. He has been working in the field of Preservation for six years. He lives in Roslindale and works in the greater Boston area, primarily on the South Shore. The event is free and open to the public.
NRH&AS Annual Meeting & Members’ Dinner
The Society would like to invite all our members to our annual meeting and members' dinner. Last year was a big hit, so we will stick with the same game plan:
5PM: Drinks and nibbles at the Damon Tavern, followed by a short annual meeting where we will elect our officers for 2026-2027 and receive brief reports from our board members detailing our key accomplishments over the last twelve months and plans for the coming year.
6:30PM-8:30PM: After the meeting, we’ll walk across the street to the Flint Memorial Library for a tasty dinner buffet, catered by Chef Jay Duffley of Ryers.
Please use this link to register for the dinner (no need to register if you only plan to stay for the meeting). This year’s menu is: Jay’s Tasty Steak Tips; Baked Cod with Lemon Butter and Breadcrumbs; Chicken Broccoli Ziti; Baked Macaroni & Cheese; Freshly Tossed Ceasar Salad; Snowflake Rolls; and Assorted Desserts. The cost per person is $30, payable in advance via Venmo, securely via our website, or by check (send to: PO Box 354, North Reading, MA 01864). Please RSVP and pay by June 12th. Thank you!
