31st Annual North Reading Apple Festival

Where: The Putnam House, 27 Bow Street, North Reading Historic District

When: Saturday September 20, 2025 10AM-3PM (rain or shine)

What’s Happening: Live entertainment, apple pie and ice cream, food and drinks, pony rides, face painting and games/activities for children, craft and merch booths, as well as an art show, raffle, and silent auction. The Putnam House, Farm Museum, West Village School House, First Meeting House, and Flint House will also be open to the public.

Classic Apple Contest Rules

This is a walk-up contest. No pre-registration required. Open to North Reading residents only. Youth entrants must be between ages 12-17. Adult entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Pies must be made from scratch. Top and bottom crusts are required. No crumb crusts. No nuts, raisins, cranberries, or other fruits are allowed. Pies must be at room temperature. Lattice pastry work, decorative cutouts, and decorations with food coloring and/or sugars are permitted.

Attach a piece of paper to the bottom of the entry pie containing the entrant’s name, address, phone number, and (if youth), age. Please deliver contest pies to the Putnam House from 8AM-10AM on the day of the Apple Festival. If using a non-disposable pie plate, please pick it up by 3PM.  Blind judging will begin at 11AM with winners announced and prizes awarded by noon. Questions? Contact us at: info@nreadinghistory.org
