24th Annual Apple Festival


Saturday, September 15, 2018 (Rain date: September 16, 2018)

10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Grounds of the Reverend Putnam House, 27 Bow Street

The Festival will include local vendors, an apple pie contest, Historical Society merchandise, local entertainment, original artwork, children’s games and pony rides. Historical buildings will be open to the public. The Sidney bicycle will be on display.

The Whydah, a former slave ship captured by pirates in February 1717, was repurposed as the flag ship of Captain "Black Sam" Bellamy, and later sunk off Cape Cod during a storm in April, 1717. The wreck was discovered in 1984.

Celebrate the season--reindeer dust, homemade cookies, hot cider and cocoa, town souvenirs, tours of the historic properties and tractor hayrides by M.G. Hall--meet the North Reading Minit & Militia. At 4:15 pm, the Chamber of Commerce lights the tree on the Common, followed by the Christian Community's service.
